Plot
In the world of Astrae, the Empire has ruled peacefully for many generations. While small skirmishes and feuds with independent states have come and gone, the Empire has not been truly opposed in living memory.
Within the past year, however, change has come to Astrae. Strange people have been showing up, apparently out of the blue. These people are not from Astrae, but from realms beyond: some of these realms are similar to Astrae, while some are drastically different. Upon their arrival these people were quickly labelled Outworlders, and their appearance raised many questions.
Where did they come from? Why are they appearing? The Outworlders themselves have no idea. At one moment they were in their own world, then in a flash of light, they appeared in Astrae.
The Empire has responded to the appearance of these people, gathering them up wherever they can and putting them in forced immigration camps set up outside the Imperial City. Some may be admitted into the Empire, but they must first surrender any advanced or strange technologies they may possess. Some of the Outworlders have agreed to this process, and some have even joined the Empire and their Imperial Knights in their mission.
But there are those who see these immigration camps as an infraction of peoples' rights. At last, the long peace that has settled over Astrae has been disrupted.
Rebellion has begun, the rebels seeking freedom without condition for the Outworlders. The rebels are less concerned with their presence in this world and more worried about the question: Why are they here?
Dissension has begun, and two sides have emerged over the presence of these Outworlders. However the fate of Astrae plays out, whoever these Outworlders may be, it is clear that this story has only just begun.
